Pap Smear
Research
A
research is been organised by Latrobe University to seek feedback
and suggestions to improve the way Pap Smear is educated to people
who are Deaf. Researchers
would like to know whether people who have undertaken Pap Smears in
the past have sufficient information on why Pap Smear test are done.
Researcher would also like to know the best way for doctors
to communicate with Deaf people.
For example do Deaf people want interpreters or classes to
explain about pap Smear? If
you have never had a Pap Smear and over 18, researchers would like
to know why you have not had a Pap Smear.
For more information contact Melanie who will pass on further
information to you.
Gambling.
Do you need support to stop/ minimise Gambling?
Some
Deaf people have become gamblers and have lost a lot of money.
The urges to win more money make some people lose more money
than they win. If
Gambling is making you depress, stress, cranky, frustrated or
getting into debt (no money) and you would like to be part of a
research, then please contact Grant who will pass on the information
to you.
Other
information for future references is the Life activities web page at
www.lifeactivities.org.au
Life Activities have worked with Deaf people in the past with
some of their programs.
