News from the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympic Organising Committee
Barry Darwin President of VCOD is supporting a request from
Melbourne 2005DGOC to lobby to the Prime Minister and MP’s to
ensure that the Federal government commits funding to the Melbourne
Games to be held in 2005. Barry
has urge all people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Hearing people
to write to the Prime Minister telling him that the Government
should support the Games by giving funding.
To find out how you can write a letter, please go to www.vcod.com.au/whatsnews
and you will see samples letters you can cut and paste and write to
the PM or MP’s. There
is also an email address site for the PM office.
So please start
writing those letters and demand that the Government support 2005
Deaflympics.

at the Concert Hall. Tickets

you want any concerts or theatre shows interpreted??
Some
people have asked whether John Farnham can be interpreted or not.
A request has been made but need to know if more people would
like to go and see John Farnham.
Or if there are any shows you would like interpreted please
let VCOD know and VCOD will follow up with Arts Access.

Volleyball training and Volleyball for women
For
the very first time we are setting up a ALLLL WOMENS volleyball team
to
play
in the ONLY ALL WOMENS VOLLEYBALL COMPETITION on Tuesday nights at
Kew High School Sports Centre, the games will run for 65 minutes,
please if you know any ladies you know might be interested pass this
message onto them. No
experience
necessary, We will organise regular training to turn the girls into
champions!!! and hopefully ready for 2005!
