National Week of Deaf People

Wednesday 9th October Young and Jackson Pub

Saturday 12th Oct is Puffing Billy and Picnic at Emerald Lake

Sunday 13th Oct Art show organised by Deaf Arts Network

Sunday 13th October Sports Day at VSDC 10am to 4pm

Sunday 13th October Melbourne Museum tour of the Italian Arts in Auslan

Tuesday 15th October John Pierce Centre Open day at 5 Donald St Prahran.

Tuesday 13th October VSDC History Tour  10am, 1pm and 3pm

Tuesday Night 15th October Debate Night  “Are Deaf people better off today then 20 years ago??”   Robert Adam President of AAD will be in attendance.

Launch of National Week of Deaf People Thursday 17th October at Vicdeaf Chapel.

Saturday 19th October Open day at Lake Park in Blackburn  (More information coming soon.)

Deaf mom fights to keep kids from ear implants (From the Grand Rapid Press) (obtain from H2H email)

This is a court case where two wards of the States children (that is the mum or dad does not look after them) are being encouraged to have a Cochlear by the people looking after the children (Welfare).  The Mother has taken the issue to court and you can read more about it on this link below.

Arts/ Theatre Shows coming up

HI-5 !!!!!!!!!!

 

Hi-5 will be interpreted on Thursday October 3rd 2002 - $24.90 per person at the Concert Hall.  Tickets are available for sale from EASE - TTY 9699 7636

Do you want any concerts or theatre shows interpreted??

Some people have asked whether John Farnham can be interpreted or not.  A request has been made but need to know if more people would like to go and see John Farnham.  Or if there are any shows you would like interpreted please let VCOD know and VCOD will follow up with Arts Access.
