It is a tragedy for a child to have deafness forced upon it. What if in
the future they lose, say, their sight too, or have an accident as a
direct result of this choice? I hope these children grow up to be very
forgiving towards their horrifyingly misguided parents.

I was shocked and appalled to read the story. They should be ashamed of
themselves. Maybe I am just gullable, but i think that any parent would
want thier child to be born healthy.

I think this is utterly appalling and they should all be charged. Yes, if
the child had naturally been born that way, by accident but not when they
design him to be impaired. They may live full and happy lives as deaf
people but I'm sure any deaf person, if given the chance, would choose to
be able to hear.
